Greenbank Woodland play is East Renfrewshires only Outdoor partnership Nursery, running from a National Trust property in Clarkston Glasgow. Children spend all day outside in our beautiful surroundings of Greenbank Gardens, and learning is firmly based on the child-led and forest school approach. 

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team at East Renfrewshires only partnership Outdoor Nursery. This position would suit someone local to Glasgow South who is experienced and passionate about Outdoor Learning and has or is working towards the minimum of an SVQ level 3 in Childhood Practice or similar. 

It is term time for aprox 38.5 hours per week with set shifts, which may include early starts (8am) or late finishes (6pm). There may be the opportunity to job share. 

Candidates should be able; 

1. To work towards providing a learner-led pedagogical approch to learning, which is not outcome led and includes play and choice, that is responsive to the needs, interests, learning preferences and dispositions of each child. 

2. Have a genuine interest in the natural world and holistically inspiring this in children, fostering confidence, resiliance and creativity. 

3. Capable of working outdoors in all weathers for long periods of time in an active and challenging environment all year round. 

4. Able to build and maintain strong partnership working with parents and staff to enable children’s needs to be met. 

Candidates should: 

Hold a HNC or SVQ level 3 qualification in Early Education and Childcare or equivalent Experience in delivering Curriculum for Excellence and Pre-Birth to Three is required and a working knowledge of Realising the Ambition and GIRFEC. 

Have at least one years relevant experience, especially of working with children outside and be qualified or able to work towards this, able to use initiative and work as a team player. 

 

Successful candidates will be required to become a member of SSSC and PVG Scheme. 

Preference would be for someone local.
